How to Charge the RetroBuddy

Use only the charging cable that is included in the box and insert the cable at the bottom of the RetroBuddy console to charge.

Please refrain from using other charging cables as it may not be compatible with the RetroBuddy and will not charge (even if the charging light comes on). The RetroBuddy can only be charged using a USB type A to type C charging. How to put the RetroBuddy to Sleep Mode Press on the power button once and the screen will turn off and the RetroBuddy is on sleep mode. **This setting is only recommended if you are planning to play the RetroBuddy again soon after putting it on sleep mode. If you do not plan to play for the next hour or so, it is recommended to turn off the RetroBuddy How to Turn Off the RetroBuddy Once you are on the game lists screen, follow the following steps to turn off the RetroBuddy: 1. Press on the Start button 2. Press on “Quit” 3. Press on “Shutdown System” 4. Press on “Yes” 5. RetroBuddy is turned off How To: RetroBuddy Basics How to Search for Games On the game lists screen, press on the Y button and the search engine will start up. There you can search for specific games that you are looking for. After putting the text of the game in the search engine, press the start button and it will show you the games that include the texts you had searched for How to Save and Load Games Nintendo DS (NDS): When running NDS games press L2 or R2 to switch screens. Save games on the NDS and other consoles by clicking both joysticks and then clicking “A” on save state. To load games, click both joysticks and then click “A” on "Load state". You can also access NDS cheats from the same menu Use the right joystick as the Stylus for the NDS and click on the right joystick to interact with the Stylus. General Consoles (PSP, N64, PS1 ETC): Exit games with: SELECT + START Some consoles SAVE with: SELECT + R1 Some consoles LOAD with: SELECT + L1 You can also SAVE/LOAD by clicking both joysticks -> Choose a save slot and tap B -> Anytime you would like to load a game, click both joysticks again -> tap B on the load state! Plus Cards: Exit game: FN + START or click both joysticks and exit game SAVE: FN + R1 to SAVE LOAD: FN + L1 to load NDS: L2 or R2 to switch screens NDS: Click both joysticks to access cheats, save, AND LOAD How To: RetroBuddy Basics How To: Exit a Game to go back to the Game List Double click both the select and start button at the same time to return to the Game List. TroubleShooting Issue: I pressed on the RetroBuddy’s power button, and a black screen showed up with coding or it’s frozen Solution: This usually means that the RetroBuddy is low on battery and cannot fully function. Please use the charging cable included in the box to charge the RetroBuddy. After charging, it should work back again. If it is still frozen. Please press and hold onto the reset button or the power button so it will be rebooted. Issue: My RetroBuddy ran out of battery and I charged it, but it still does not turn on Solution: The console can only be charged using a USB type A to type C charging cable. It is recommended to only use the charging cable provided in the box to charge the console.
